Immaculate Conception Church, Dardenne Prairie, Missouri |
|
Immaculate Conception Parish is in a rapidly expanding area of St. Louis County. The parish had long ago outgrown the 100 year old church seating 300 and needed a new worship facility for 1200 persons, as well as a new parish hall and meeting rooms. The design program called for all 1200 persons to be close enough to the altar and each other to make good worship possible. The congregation also wanted a structure that "looked like a church", incorporating an aesthetic of tradition and timelessness in the design while maintaining a contemporary plan for liturgy. Winner
