Ascension School, Chesterfield, Missouri |
|
Ascension school is located within the rapidly growing community of Chesterfield. This project added the much space to the existing school to accommodate the increase in students. The project included eight new classrooms for individual grades, a science room, computer room, a new library and expanded administrative offices. The new wing was connected to the existing school with a new axial corridor featuring a large skylight over both new and existing portions. The school used brick and stone matching existing construction to harmonize new with old, however a new identity was established by new entrance structures on both sides of the buildings. Classrooms were set apart from each other with brightly colored entrances and casework within the room. Existing classrooms were painted as well, unifying the whole school. |
